AudioHog public beta
Privacy policy
AudioHog is a personal conversation-awareness tool operated by Ryan Shechtman. Microphone audio stays on your device and is never uploaded by AudioHog.
Updated October 15, 2026
Microphone audio stays local
AudioHog requests microphone permission only after you choose Start session or Set up microphone. Your browser provides short audio frames for local analysis, including a speech model that runs on your device. These transient buffers are not recordings: AudioHog does not encode, save, upload or send microphone audio to a server. Audio is not transcribed. End session releases microphone tracks, closes the audio context and terminates the analysis worker.
What stays in your browser
Local storage contains your reminder and detection settings (audiohog.settings.v1) and up to 30 completed session summaries (audiohog.history.v1). Summaries include dates, duration, estimated detected activity, speaking streaks and reminder counts, not words or audio. Calibration levels and microphone device identifiers stay only in memory for the current visit. AudioHog has no user accounts, cloud database, advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Browser storage can fail, be cleared or be evicted.
Static files, offline caching and hosting
Your browser downloads app files and a bundled speech model/runtime from this site's own origin. A service worker caches static files for offline use and checks for updates. It does not cache microphone audio. The static host (currently Cloudflare Pages) may process normal request information, such as IP address, requested URL, browser information and time, for delivery and security under its own policies. This is separate from AudioHog's local audio analysis. AudioHog does not send session summaries or calibration data to the host.
Optional support and external sites
The Support AudioHog link goes to Ryan Shechtman's Ko-fi profile. There is no embedded Ko-fi widget, checkout or payment backend in AudioHog. Ko-fi is contacted through this link only when you choose to open it; its own privacy and payment-provider policies then apply. AudioHog does not receive payment-card details. If you choose to support or contact the creator, those services may share your name, email, support details and message with the creator to handle the transaction or respond. This voluntary information is separate from local microphone analysis. Do not send meeting recordings or confidential call content in feedback or support messages.
Your controls
End session stops capture. History → Clear history removes saved summaries. Clear this site's data in your browser to remove settings, history and the offline cache; revoke microphone permission through your browser's site settings. There is no account or server-held audio to delete. Host access-log requests and information you choose to send on external services are governed by those services' policies.
